Composite Veneers

Are you in search of composite veneers in Manchester for a dream smile makeover? Here’s all you need to know!

What are composite veneers?

Composite veneers are a minimally invasive treatment designed to enhance the appearance of your smile. These custom-made, ultra-thin shells, crafted from tooth-coloured resin, are bonded to the front surface of your teeth To change the shape and colour of your teeth, as well as disguising minor misalignments.

Benefits include:

  • No damage to your teeth: Unlike some alternatives, in nearly all cases the placement of composite veneers requires no drilling of your teeth. If any adjustment to your teeth is required this will be discussed in detail as well as any suitable alternative treatments.
  • Quick and Painless: The process of placing composite veneers is usually completed in a single visit, without the need for local anaesthetic, which means no injections.
  • Customisable: Your composite veneers are custom-crafted to your desired shade and shape, ensuring a personalised and stunning transformation. Whether you want a bright white Hollywood smile or a more subtle, natural look, the choice is yours. Composite veneers can also be adjusted, even years after being placed.

How long do composite veneers last?

On average composite veneers will last five to seven years. It’s important to follow the after care instructions and to return to have them cared for regularly with our composite conditioning treatment, which helps reduce staining and maintain the high gloss finish of the composite veneers.

What are the risks of having composite veneers?

While composite veneer treatment is generally very safe and minimally invasive, it’s important to be aware of the risks involved. Although composite veneers are very strong, when compared to porcelain veneers there is an increased risk of staining, chipping and wear over time.  Composite veneers can usually be repaired very easily, and with good care and regular maintenance the risks can be reduced and the stunning appearance of composite maintained for many years.

Can I see what the composite veneers will look like before having the treatment?

During your free consultation Dr Dentith will mock up some composite veneers on your teeth to give you an idea of the results that can be achieved. You will have the opportunity to take some photos of this before the composite is removed at the end of the consultation.

It is also possible to have a lab made trial smile created. This is an exact replica of your composite veneers, which are tried in at a separate appointment to ensure you are happy before proceeding. There is a lab charge of £500 to have a trial smile made.

Do I need to avoid anything after having composite veneers?

With your composite veneer smile makeover complete, once you leave the clinic in Manchester, it’s important you follow our after care instructions to help maintain your new smile.

You will usually be able to eat immediately following treatment but the setting process of the composite will continue over the next week and it‘s important to avoid staining foods and drinks such as curry, tea, coffee and red wine during this time to avoid early staining.

To help maintain the colour of the composite and reduce staining after this, it’s best to keep these substances to a minimum. Avoiding very hard foods and habits such as nail biting and cutting sellotape with your teeth will help keep the risk of the composite chipping to a minimum. By maintaining excellent oral hygiene and attending for regular maintenance appointments following this, you can enjoy a stunning smile for many years to come.

How much do composite veneers cost?

Composite veneers are £300 per tooth. It’s usually possible to treat upper and lower teeth, although many patients just opt to have their top teeth done. In most cases eight or ten composite veneers are placed on the top teeth, with the same number on the bottom, when treating both arches. Typical cost is therefore usually £2400-£3000 per arch.
